DESCRIPTION: ESENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Supervisory Duties Schedule
and coordinate dietary aide staff to ensure adequate coverage
during all meal periods. Train, mentor, and coach dietary aides on
food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures. Conduct pre-shift
meetings to review daily assignments and expectations. Maintain
staff uniform and appearance standards. Address performance issues
promptly and report concerns to the Health Care Manager/CDM. Food
Service Operations Assist in the preparation, service, and delivery
of meals and snacks. Take meal orders from residents and/or family
members, ensuring accuracy and resident preferences are recorded.
Ensure meals are portioned and served according to diet orders and
resident preferences. Review menus daily and confirm any diet
changes or special instructions. Inspect trays for accuracy before
meal delivery. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and
storage areas. Sanitation and Compliance Ensure compliance with all
applicable food safety, sanitation, and infection control
regulations. Supervise cleaning of kitchen equipment, dishes,
utensils, and work areas. Monitor proper storage, labeling, and
dating of food items. Participate in in-service training and staff
development activities. Administrative Responsibilities Complete
and submit accurate logs, reports, and records as required. Assist
with inventory control and supply ordering. Collaborate with the
Dietary Manager/CDM on menu updates and dietary changes.
??????????????PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have good or corrected
vision Must be able to endure prolonged periods of standing,
reaching, stooping Must be able to endure temperature changes in
walk-in cooler, walk-in freezer and meal service over steam tables
Must be able to touch/serve, fish and shellfish Must be able to
lift 50 lbs. Perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
Writing, keyboarding, speak on phone and in person, read computer
monitor, hear spoken questions and comments WORK ENVIRONMENT: •
Work in environments with varying temperatures, including hot
kitchens and refrigerated areas. • Exposure to noise and activity
typical of food service operations. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma Minimum two years’ experience in food service
or healthcare dietary operations preferred. Prior leadership or
supervisory experience strongly desired. Knowledge of food safety,
sanitation, and dietary guidelines. Ability to lead, train, and
motivate dietary aides effectively. Strong organizational and
communication skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced
environment and adapt to changing priorities. Working knowledge of
daily Healthcare meal service operations Ability to identify diet
textures and liquid thickness Familiarity with adaptive equipment
Working knowledge of tray card system Patience and compassion when
dealing with residents and family members Ability to communicate
effectively with residents, family members and team members Strong
attention to detail Ability to follow instructions for meal orders,
nutritional needs and recipes to ensure residents receive
appropriate food
