Minimum of 2 years of ICU or PCU experience, with CVICU preferred
License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have:
Experience with heavy cardiac conditions such as CHF,
cardiomyopathy, and STEMI/NSTEMI Experience with swan and Impella
devices Experience with wound care and dressing changes Ability to
manage chest tubes, trachs, art lines, and various infusions
Description: This is an opportunity for an RN to join a new high
acuity Progressive Care Unit, transitioning to ICU by the end of
2026. The unit will initially open with 10 to 12 beds. Patient
ratios will initially be 1:3-4 and will transition to 1:2-3 as the
unit becomes an ICU. Patients will include those with a range of
cardiac diagnoses such as CHF, cardiomyopathy, shock, and
post-surgical cases. Experience with managing post-cardiac surgery
patients and HR patients is highly preferred but training can be
provided. Support within the department includes nursing
assistants, phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, and intensivist
coverage 24/7. Nurses will be expected to care for fresh open heart
surgery patients once the unit transitions to ICU. The electronic
medical record system utilized is EPIC. Nurses may float to other
units within their scope of practice. Scheduling includes a weekend
rotation with a self-scheduling model. Nurses will be required to
work 50% of holidays in the contract period. Scrub color is royal
