Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Kings Mountain, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,894 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 1/25/2026 About the Position Job Title: RN - Progressive Care Unit Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 18 months of PCU experience License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Essential nursing functions Teamwork skills Effective communication Experience with tracheostomies Cardiac medication administration experience Cardiac rhythm interpretation skills Chest tube management Blood product administration Wound care and dressing changes Management of central lines Description: The RN will work in a 33-bed unit focusing on patient care. Common patient diagnoses include stroke, pneumonia, cellulitis, failure to thrive, altered mental status, chest pain, atrial fibrillation, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Nurse to patient ratios are approximately 1:5 to 1:6. LPNs take primary nurse assignments. CNAs provide assistance with activities of daily living and vital signs. Telehealth resources are available 24/7 alongside hospitalist support. Telemetry monitoring is conducted at the nurses' station and a central location. Experience with various technology and equipment, including electronic medical records and telemetry monitors is needed. Floating may be required based on regional needs within the scope of practice. Travelers will receive compensation for travel time between facilities if floating occurs mid-shift. Every traveler is expected to work 75% of holidays and participate in a weekend rotation every other week.
