What We Offer: OR Registered Nurse – Outpatient Surgery (Days) LOCATION: Julian Road Outpatient Surgery HOURS: Full-Time | M–F 6:45a–3:15p (late rotation) Zero weekends, holidays, or call requirements Consistent schedule supporting work–life balance OR experience needed The Registered Nurse ASC is expected to work in a primary nursing area for the center. The Registered Nurse ASC is able to function as a team member in an ASC environment through cross-training to other primary areas including but not limited to assisting with turnover, and all other aspects of day-to-day ASC operations. He/she is also responsible for the coordination of the telephone pre-admission assessment process for patients in the ASC environment. Details of the job: - Currently a 3 OR room facility with growth to open a procedure room expected - Fast turn overs averaging 10 minutes - Volumes 20-30 cases/ day - Majority of cases are ophthalmology - Specialties performed at JROPS: ENT, ophthalmology, general surgery, Endoscopy, orthopedics, plastics, dental, urology, GYN, pain, physiatry. - RNs also monitor local cases - RNs are the “code team” requiring BLS, ALS, and PALS - Population is 6 months of age to geriatric - RNs will also need to be equipped to scrub cases or will be required to learn to scrub cases - RNs serve as a monitor RN for local cases - Mon-Fri, no weekends, call, major holidays - Hours worked are 0630/0645 till 1515 with rotation of late days to be the RN in the OR till cases are finished for the day - Must be able to multitask and be comfortable in a very fast paced environment What We're Looking For: - Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. - Experience: One year of ASC, PACU or operating room experience, preferred. - Licensure/Certification: - Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. - ACLS and PALS, preferred. - Additional Skills (required): Must have a thorough understanding of role of RN and ability to carry out the functions as stated in the NC nurse practice act. Ability to set priorities and organize workload of unit. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient’s age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Proficient in telephone screening and interviewing skills.
