Job Description:
Exciting Opportunity in Salisbury, NC: Join Our Team as a
Comprehensive Ophthalmologist! The Salisbury VA Medical Center is
excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated Comprehensive
Ophthalmologist to join our team! This is a chance to make a

served our country! Per rotation 1 week every 5 weeks Resident
teaching /staffing Academic Affiliation: Atrium Wake Forest Baptist
Medical Center S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed
when it is impossible to recruit qualified citizens, in accordance
with VA policy. A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent degree
in allopathic or osteopathic medicine is required. Candidates must
possess a current, complete, and unrestricted license to practice
medicine in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United
States, or in the District of Columbia. Candidates must be
board-certified or board-eligible in Ophthalmology. ~ Preferred
experience in treating medical retina conditions with anti-VEGF
therapies, basic glaucoma, and cataracts. ~ Pay: Competitive
salary, annual performance bonus, and regular salary increases.
Paid Time Off: 50–55 days of paid time off per year (including 26
days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal
holidays, and a possible five-day paid absence for CME).
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (vesting after 5 years) and
federal 401(k) with up to 5% contributions by VA. Federal health,
vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance (many
federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). CME:
Possible reimbursement of $1,000 per year (must be full-time with
board certification). Contract: No physician employment contract
and no significant restrictions on moonlighting. We look forward to
