This role includes comprehensive patient assessment, implementing complex care plans, administering treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The position requires strong pediatric critical care skills, advanced clinical judgment, excellent communication, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and professional ethics in pediatric intensive care. /n/nEssential Work Functions:/n/n /n/t - Explain procedures and treatments to pediatric patients and their families to ensure understanding, cooperation, and emotional support during critical situations/n/t - Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved pediatric nursing techniques and protocols/n/t - Prepares and operates advanced medical equipment, including ventilators, central line setups, and hemodynamic monitors, while assisting physicians during treatments and examinations/n/t - Continuously observes and evaluates patient conditions, records significant findings, and promptly notifies physicians of critical changes or adverse reactions to treatments/n/t - Monitors and interprets vital signs and other clinical data to detect deviations from normal, initiating rapid interventions when necessary/n/t - Responds to life-saving situations based upon pediatric nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to intensive care/n/t - Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient and family, as prescribed by a physician and/or hospital policy/n/t - Document all relevant history and physical assessments for assigned patients accurately in medical records/n/t - Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice/n/t - Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards/n /n/nRequired Essential Skills:/n/n /n/t - Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills/n/t - The ability to read, write, & communicate in the English language is required/n/t - Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills/n/t - Physical Abilities - Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending/n/t - Interpersonal Skills - To work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism/n/t - Technical/Motor Skills - Ability to grasp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment./n/t - Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure.
