experience License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS,
NIHSS Must-Have: CCRN (preferred) Description: The position is for
a Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. This
is a 22-bed ICU unit caring for patients with cardiovascular
support needs. Common diagnoses include post-operative care for
CABG, valve replacements/repairs, and thoracic aortic aneurysms.
Patient ratios are 1 RN to 2 patients. Support staff includes CNAs
for daily activities, a receptionist for unit management, and a
charge nurse. The unit has 24/7 intensivist coverage and offers
specialized equipment for high-acuity patients. Key skills required
include cardiac assessment, care for circulatory support devices,
titration of vasoactive medications, and hemodynamic monitoring.
Technology used includes an electronic medical record system and
various patient monitoring systems. The unit culture is fast-paced
and focused on high-acuity patient care.
