Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years Experience License: NC or Compact license pending Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support Must-Have: - Telemetry experience - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in a cancel and DNR. Unit will accept contracts for 13 weeks. 36 or 48 hours can be offered. If 48 hours are worked, no overtime will be billed until after 48 hours. Ratios are 1:5-6. Unit will accept first-time travelers. Locals are accepted. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. Patient diagnoses include renal and limb preservation patients, ESRD, ARF, vascular procedures, CHF, and diabetic foot ulcers. Unit is a 41-bed inpatient unit with telemetry capability and focuses on renal and limb preservation patients. Patients who receive hemodialysis will receive treatments in a dedicated hemodialysis unit. Peritoneal dialysis patients will receive treatments on the unit with initiation by the dialysis team. Interdisciplinary team consists of hospitalists, RN navigators, RNs, NAs, receptionists, dietary, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and pharmacy. This team meets daily to ensure the best care is provided for patients. Unit systems used include Pyxis and EMR software. Self-scheduling is available based on unit needs. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to the start for this specialty. Flu vaccine is required with medical or religious exemptions allowed. Candidates may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliates. Floating is expected based on skill sets and census. Candidates must be comfortable floating with no restrictions or special requests. Travel pairs are allowed but must work on different units. References are required at the time of start. Fatigue policy applies; travelers cannot work more than 5 days in a row and/or more than 60 hours in a week. Modules must be completed pre-start and annually. Hours vary by specialty. Modules are recorded via online learning and in-person classes.
