qualified PCU RN in Winston Salem, North Carolina, 27103! Pay
Information $2,416 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care
Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours
Experience: Minimum of 2 years required. License: Current nursing
license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS required. Must-Have:
Skills in IV start, ventilation management, telemetry, and
interpretation/management of dysrhythmias. Description: RTO after
booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit
could lead to cancellation. The unit will accept first-time
travelers. Weekend shifts are required, with a total of 4 weekend
shifts in 6 weeks, though staffing needs may necessitate more.
Float requirements to similar units may apply. Patient population
includes individuals with COPD, pneumonia, respiratory distress,
and other respiratory conditions. The unit is equipped to handle
ventilators for chronic patients, ensuring no nurse manages more
than one ventilator patient at a time. Resources available on the
unit include an admission/discharge nurse, an assistant nurse
manager, and a code team. The patient ratio typically ranges from
1:4 to 1:5, with a possible increase to 1:6 in extreme situations.
Unit operates with a mix of PCU and medical-surgical tele patients,
catering to an acuity level on the higher end of the spectrum.
CNA-to-patient ratio is 9-10:1. The focus is on acute respiratory
failure and exacerbations, along with telemetry monitoring for many
patients. All candidates must pass an EKG test prior to starting
this specialty. Submittals may require prior employer details if
applicable. Candidates are encouraged to be flexible with location,
unit, and shift preferences. Travel pairs are allowed but must work
in different units. References are required prior to the start of
the assignment. Travelers cannot work more than 5 consecutive days
or exceed 60 hours in a week. Modules may be required to be
