Job Description Job Description Description: The Experienced
Rotary Screw Technician is responsible for advanced service,
repair, and installation of rotary screw air compressors and
related compressed air systems. This position requires strong
technical knowledge of pneumatic systems, electrical controls, and
mechanical assemblies. The technician performs complex diagnostics,
troubleshooting, and overhauls, ensuring optimal performance,
efficiency, and reliability of equipment. The role also includes
providing exceptional customer service during field visits or
repairs. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair rotary
screw air compressors and auxiliary systems (dryers, filters,
tanks, etc.). Perform preventive maintenance, including oil
changes, filter replacements, and system inspections. Conduct
complete compressor rebuilds, including teardown, inspection, and
reassembly of airends and components. Install and commission new
air compressor systems according to manufacturer specifications and
safety standards. Interpret and apply electrical schematics,
mechanical drawings, and service manuals. Use precision measuring
tools and diagnostic equipment to evaluate equipment performance.
Work with service coordinators to gather the necessary parts and
supplies for installations and repairs. Inspect and test equipment
before and after repairs to ensure proper operation and adherence
to specifications. Ensure compliance with all company, OSHA, and
manufacturer safety requirements. Respond to customer needs,
explain technical issues to non-technical clients, and maintain
professionalism. Maintain accurate service records, work orders,
and reports. Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary in
support of the corporate mission, vision and values. Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational
training in industrial maintenance or mechanics preferred. Minimum
3–5 years of experience servicing rotary screw compressors or
equivalent industrial machinery. Strong knowledge of compressor
system components, electrical controls, PLCs, and pneumatic
systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and
service manuals. Proficient with mechanical tools, testing
instruments, and diagnostic software. Valid driver’s license with a
clean driving record (for field service roles). Excellent
problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong
communication and time-management abilities. Willingness to travel
30-40% and work overtime as needed.
